Too Faced Natural At Night Palette

First and foremost, I'd like to send out a massive apology in regards to my lack of blogging! September was a very busy month for me and it meant my little blog took a back seat but I'm determined to get it back on track. I'm going to start by stating that from now on, the Nails And Teapots Beauty Blog will only be uploading on Fridays, due to the pressure of other commitments, with the odd little extra post thrown in here and there. This still means that there will be plenty of product reviews, monthly favourites, tags and hauls for you to (hopefully) enjoy every Friday. Hope that's okay!

Okay now onto the fun stuff. Palettes, for me, are one of my all time favourite things to collect and I truly believe no one can ever have enough. I've had my eye on the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette for a while now but after realising and accepting that it's impossible to find in store in the UK, I instead decided to try out their Natural At Night Palette and as you can so quite clearly see, it is gorgeous! Structured very similarly to the brands other palettes, there's 3 looks, 9 shades and a mixture of matte and iridescent finishes, making this a good-to-go all round palette with the darker, tertiary like theme being perfect for the upcoming A/W. If you want a sexy, sultry smokey-eye, this is the palette for you. The quality of these shadows are nothing short then what I would except from similar high end brands such as MAC and Urban Decay. Their buttery, easily blended, no fall out and have exceptional lasting power. There really isn't a bad quality to go against them. My favourite shade within this palette is easily After Hours from the Classic look, which looks incredible blended all-over the lid or paired with a similar pinky, cream base that really amplifies that shimmer.

Priced at £29, it's fairly expensive but I like to think it's worth it. Grab your own from here and be sure to let me know how you find it!

Let me know what you think in the comments.
What's your favourite A/W palette?

OOTD | Bright, Coral, Floral.

So my other OOTD post seemed to go down very well with my followers which I'm incredibly pleased about considering they're not something I'm overly accustomed too. I therefore decided to take a few snaps of my outfit today as it features pretty much all new additions to my wardrobe which I have been loving wearing. The main focus of this outfit being, of course, the jacket. I originally saw this jacket full priced and instantly wanted it but sadly they didn't have my size. Or maybe not so sad as a few weeks later I then find the same jacket in the perfect size for half the price! How ace is that?

Dress: Pull & Bear (£19.99), Jacket: River Island (£25), Shoes: Primark (£12-£15), Bag: Primark (£6), Lipstick: Topshop Sheer Lips in Pleased as Punch (£8)

Fashion| Wal-G Clothing

These lovely numbers you can see below are all products of an amazing up and coming fashion website Wal-G. This company stock beautiful clothing for women of all shapes and sizes, tastefully displayed with the help of their gorgeous models. At first glance of their collection I could already pick out a few items that I would love to have in my forever expanding wardrobe. The best part being that the clothes are so affordable it won't even break the bank to have a lovely wardrobe this Spring.
I've picked a few of my favourite items from the website and followed a blue theme for this post as this seems to be a popular colour that I think we will be seeing a lot of in Spring 2014.

(None of the photos below belong to me and were found on the Wal-G website. All clothing items can be found on the website which you can be directed to by the clicking on the banner on the right side of my blog)

The first being the Wal-G Sandy Cross Playsuit in Navy. A subtle but chic outfit perfect for a casual daytime look but with the right accessories could look great for a night out. I love the cross over effect at the front as I feel it would definitely flatter anyone who wore it as well as create a sense of uniqueness. I love the added extra of the gold zip as I feel this bit of detailing really helps to break up the outfit. This along with the round neckline and thick sleeves, makes this a staple for any fashionista's wardrobe and priced at only £37, I don't think anyone could argue with that!

The next item was the first thing I spotted and instantly fell in love with. The Wal-G Spring In Your Step Overlay Dress which, first things first, I love the name. Nothing better when companies create a cute outfit with a quirky, descriptive name to match. The style, cut and pattern are totally different to anything seen before and so make it unique to this Fashion website. I love the big bold floral design which is just perfect for the Springtime along with the pretty green colour. This also comes in Wine, a  subtle red that really does the print justice. Priced again at £39, there really would be nothing stopping me to buy them in both colours and would hope they would do some more items styled like this on the website soon!

The last item I am currently lusting over is the Wal-G Lace Up Back Dress which is currently on offer at the moment from £32 down to £12 which is insanely cheap for such a gorgeous item. I can't get enough of intricate backed dresses at the moment and this sure isn't a disappointment! I love the fit as I feel the tight top and flared out skirt is always a 'yes' for all girls in different shapes and sizes. The subtle, floral pattern netted in to the dress is exactly what I need to complete my Spring wardrobe and I know I would get a lot of wear out of this be it day or night. This comes in the colours Navy (pictured above) and Red and to be honest I don't know which I prefer!

All in all, this is definitely the website to go to for affordable yet beautiful clothing for each and every women. The only downside being that a few of their most popular items are out of stuck but I would think this to be a minor problem that would be solved in the near future)

Please let me know what you think in the comments.
What item would you love to be seen wearing this Spring?

Fashion & Beauty| My Current Wish List

Hi everyone!
Thought I would make a post on all the things I am lusting over the moment beauty and lifestyle wise. It's getting to the point now where I'm actually losing track because I come across so many great recommendations on here and I just want it all!

So without further ado my current Wish List..
(I apologise for the poor image quality, as this is my 'wish list' I obviously don't have the actual items to take photos of so I had to resort to the internet - none of the pictures below belong to me)

The first being the Mac Pro Palette x 15. I think these are a great idea because there's been so many times that I've bought a palette where I only use half of the colours and the rest  end up just going to waste BUT this one is filled with your own choices and so therefore perfectly suited to your wants and needs. I couldn't believe it was only £6.50 especially with it being a Mac item. Will have to get this ASAP!

And then of course there comes the eyeshadows refills to place into the Mac Pro Palette. This is Woodwinked and Omega, two of the staple colours which I think pretty much every beauty blogger in the world has either heard of or loved. Priced at £10 each, again they weren't as outrageous as I thought they were going to be. Even more reason to buy them!

Of course the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette is on here. After receiving the Naked 2 for Christmas this has become no more than an necessity to add to my collection. Urban Decay have definitely given me the best quality eyeshadows and the prettiest colours then I have ever had before. This Naked 3 is a rose-hued coloured palette and I mean look at them - it's beautiful! Priced at £37 they are expensive but I would like to say they're worth it and with my birthday coming in just under two weeks, I'm hoping someone will 'surprise' me with one (not like I'm hinting or anything).

Two products from Nars. The Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the colour Damned. Seen so many good reviews on these and I though the colour was a really nice, deep red perfect for vamping up any outfit. Priced at £17.50 it definitely is expensive for a lip pencil but I'm hoping it will be worth it. The second item being, of course, the Nars Laguna Bronzer priced at £26. One of the most raved about bronzers in the beauty world and the perfect colour for someone as fair skinned as me. I can understand that this isn't an necessity as I still have Benefit's Hoola and the Sleek Contour Kit in my collection but I want it anyway, okay?

The Essie Nail Polish in the colour Fiji. It comes at no surprise that this is in my Wish List with Essie being one of the top brands in the nail varnish industry and me being a lover of nail varnish! I also think Fiji is a really pretty, unique colour and I would personally find pleasure wearing it all year round. Priced at £7.99 there are definitely an expensive alternative to Barry M nail polishes but with pretty much every colour under the sun, it comes at no surprise Essie is renowned for being amazing.

And last but not least a tartan scarf. I've been so in to the tartan trend this summer and have already purchased a number of things in this cute but chic pattern. I've been lusting over a tartan scarf for four months now but have never found one in the right colour of style until I stumbled upon this little beauty from no where else but Topman! Priced at £14 this was a lot cheaper then what I was expecting to pay and I'm just happy that a men's shop was there to end my journey.

So that's it so far, there's still like a million things I can add to this but I thought I would keep it short(ish) and sweet.

Let me know what you think in the comments.
What's on your wish list?

Fashion| Topshop Nail Varnish

Hi everyone!
Just doing a quick run down on three of my favourite nail polishes that I've been loving these past few months. I've been mostly reaching for my Topshop nail varnishes as I find them really easy to apply, long lasting and give a great, bold coverage. I absolutely love the packaging which I think appears to look youthful and cute, something I love having sitting on my dressing table on display.

My first favourite is Venus Flytrap a Pistachio Green colour which gives of a chalky look once applied and dried. This is perfect for Spring/Summer as an alternative to the pale pastels that usually make an appearance. You literally need two coats of this to achieve a solid colour that still dries quickly.

The second is Plume a Purply-Blue colour that has a beautiful metallic shine with a slight shimmer once dried. The colour seems to adapt depending on the light making it more diverse. This takes 3-4 coats to achieve a bold, electric colour but it fasts drying and last a very long time. This deep colour is perfect for the Autumn/Winter paired with some gold accessories.

And last but not least is the colour Imagination a baby blue colour with a glossy, glittery finish. This looks so pretty on and is completely different to anything I've seen or owned. The cool blue tone colour is perfect for Winter (I wore it a lot around Christmas) making a great alternative to the usual deep reds and golds that I usually see people wearing. I also love the name of this one and I have felt it to be completely relevant to the colour. The only problem I have found is the consistency is rather 'gloopy' making it slightly difficult to apply but it's still long lasting all the same.

All in all, I think it's obvious that I'm a big lover of Topshop's Nail Varnishes. They're great quality for a good price and a slightly cheaper alternative to Essie's Nail Polishes. Priced at only £6 (currently on offer online for 2 for £9) there really is no reason to not give these a go.

Please let me know what you think in the comments.
Have you tried any of Topshop's Nail Varnishes?
What's your favourite?

Make Up| Yet Another Mini Cosmetics Haul

Hello again!
Two blog posts in one day, I really hope you're not getting sick of me!
I accidentally went into Superdrug and may or may have not spend quite a bit of money on things that weren't but at the same time were totally necessary.

I picked up two of the Real Techniques brushes, the Shading brush (£6.99) and the Stippling brush (£10.99) . I pretty much own all of the RT brushes now and these really are my favourite tools to use when trying to create a flawless look. I've heard many good things about the stippling brush but haven't read up on many reviews for the shading brush so please let me know in the comments if you have tried it and your impressions on it!

I also picked up one the Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick (£6.99) in the colour Kiss Pearl 832. I already own another one of these and I found the finish and pigmentation amazing. Plus, there was an offer on, on all Maybelline products so it would've been silly not to.

And so to receive this offer I also purchased the Maybelline Browdrama Eyebrow Mascara (£4.99) as I've been desperate to try one of these out. If I'm honest, I bought this on a whim and so have read no reviews and haven't clue what it could be like. Once again if you've tried it, please let me know your opinion in the comments!

Comment below your thoughts.
What products have you bought on a whim and have shocked you?

Fragrance| Estée Lauder Modern Muse

Hello!
A nice early morning post for you all today.
I'm going to give you a quick review about one of my favourite fragrances the
Estée Lauder Modern Muse Eau De Parfum.
I've had this for about 3 months and I honestly can not get enough of it.
This fell into my hands by accident and I blame the sales assistant because she did the usual Estée trick and sprayed the tissue paper that was covering my foundation (Estée Lauder Double Wear review here) and I was hooked!
First of all, it's like a love hate relationship with the packaging. I love the clear simplistic style of the body of the bottle and I love the bow elements but I don't know if it looks necessarily 'right' framing the square spray but I do think it looks really classy all the same. Well it IS Estée Lauder. The scent is a mixture between floral and sensual woods such as Suede Musk, Amber Wood and Honeysuckle Nectar with a hint of Vanilla and the contrasts between the two dominative notes makes the smell even more so amazing. The smell itself is meant to resemble the Modern Day woman, the contrast being between her life and personality and I definitely agree that it captures her creative energy and femininity as it does to whoever is wearing this.
I have most definitely received the most comments on this fragrance then any other. I find the smell is actually distinctive and lasts a long time - perfect!
I would also honestly say, being Estée Lauder, this is perfect for all age types.
I have no preference on wether to wear this in Summer or Winter as I feel the floral hints make it a perfect Summer fragrance where as the sensual woods have a heavy, Wintery musk that make it feel warm and feminine.
Priced at £44 for the 30ml, I must say, I was expecting a lot worst and I happily shoved my card into the machine without a second thought.

Have you tried it? What did you think?
Tell me your favourite fragrance in the comments, I'm always on the hunt for something new!

Make Up| Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Hi everyone!
Hope you've all had a good monday (if that's possible)
Today I am review my all time favourite powder for setting my make up and that is the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in the colour Light.
My face does not feel complete without this little beauty!
It's basically a domed, baked face powder which provides a natural matte finish, perfect for setting your foundation! Once this is on, my make up stays put all day and I really feel this does just keep it on the face. It's one of those powders where you can actually see it mattifying the shiny areas like some kind of sorcery (well not literally but even so).

Prior to this I was using a loose powder and after just one go with this one, I was converted for life. It gives an even finish that doesn't look to powdery on the skin. It's non-drying and even thought it's the lightest colour, it still adds a bit of warmth to a paler complexion but by no means orange! It's a buidable coverage and perfect for everyday use. I would also say it's good for every skin type. I honestly could not recommend it highly enough.

I love the packaging as I like being able to see the product through the clear top. The only downside is the clear circle does pop out very easily and when paying so much for a product, you'd think this shouldn't be an issue! Priced at £22 it is slightly expensive but excluding the packaging, you are most definitely paying for quality.

What's your favourite powder?
Have you tried this one? If so, what did you think?

Make Up| Everyday Make Up Look

Hi everyone!
This is just a quick photo post on my usual everyday make up!

I'm currently loving a eyeshadow combo of Half Baked and Chopper from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (review coming soon!)

Liquid or gel eyeliner is a must in my everyday make up routine. I feel naked without something lining my eyes!

I like to go for a dewey finish which is usually achieved with the help of my Urban Decay Illuminator (review here) and Clarins primer (review here).

Let me know what you guys think!
What product do you wear everyday without fail?

Make Up| Mini Cosmetics Haul

Hello again!

I accidentally did a bit of shopping today (which of course was necessary) and I thought I would do a quick post on what I bought. Obviously I won't be reviewing the products as such because I haven't properly tried them yet but watch this space as there probably will be comments on all of them in the near future!!

My first and favourite product from today is the Clinique 'take the day off' Cleansing Balm. I've seen loads of reviews for this and I was stuck between this or the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm but I felt for almost £8 cheaper and it being my first time even using one, I thought this would be a good place to start. I love the packaging, it feels luxurious and expensive and I'm a sucker for the colour purple. I can only describe the consistency of the product as 'magical', is that sad? It's a solid balm that dissolves quickly into a silky, oil thats perfect for taking off foundation and hard-to-budge eye makeup. I can't wait to try it!

I also picked up 3 face mask from Superdrug's own brand. There's no particular reason why I chose these specific ones but I felt they looked interesting and priced at only 99p I felt it would be silly not too try! Each mask does a different job as one purifies, another's cooling and the other is a heating one - my favourite! I really want to incorporate face masks into my skin care routine as I feel they're an affordable way to make you feel pampered and give you that post-facial feeling.

The last 2 items I picked up were one of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's in the colour Pink Gold and a Max Factor Miracle Touch Cream Blush in 03 Soft Copper. I already own 3 other colours in the Maybelline Colour Tattoo range and I absolutely love them for a quick and easy yet effective eye make up look. I haven't had a cream blush in my makeup collection for years and I liked the look of the Max Factor ones and priced at only £6.99 I was easily convinced. I chose this colour as I feel like it's more of a bronzed blush meaning when I'm feeling lazy I can just apply this without having to worrying about my usual contouring along with blusher.

Have you tried this products? How did you find them?

Fragrance| Marc Jacobs Daisy

Hello!

As one of my first fragrance related posts I thought I would do a quick rave and review about one of my favourite fragrances which is Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs. Now, I don't know about you guys but for starters I find all of the bottle designs beautiful and definitely eye catching . The particular one I have is in this pretty and attractive flower shape as its only a squidly 20ml where as the 75ml bottle (which I went out and bought not long after this one had ran out) is a much more of a generous sized bottle with the usual abundance of flowers on the lid.

Now the fragrance scent can only be described as floral with a hint of fruit thrown in there. It's definitely a light fragrance and is perfect for the summer but I've still found pleasure in wearing it through out these wintery days. This is definitely one of those fragrances which smells different on every person. I often find myself saying to a friend 'mmm I love your perfume what is that?!' And it in actual fact being the same one as I'm wearing. But I find this as more of a bonus as it means it's more personal. The main ingredients in the fragrance are grapefruit, pear and raspberry with a hint of jasmine and apple blossom in there too making it an abundance of fruity and floral favours which make it a nice fresh girly scent. AND the bottle pictured above only cost me £25(!) which I feel is quite a generous amount considering.

Let me know some of your favourite fragrances in the comment section as I'm always on the hunt for something new :)
