My Everyday Makeup Look

A quick run down of my current favourite, go-to make up look. I personally prefer to opt for dewey skin, a subtle smokey eye and of course winged liner! I used the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge for my liquid face products and Zoeva brushes for my eyes which I highly recommend! I am aware that my everyday make up may be a little full on for some of you but I genuinely enjoy playing around with different products and looks which I may as well wear somewhere!

I'm All About That Base

Firstly, let me apologise for the not-so-subtle Meghan Trainor pun in the title. I seriously could not resist. A flawless base is rule number one for great make up application. Without it, the whole look just falls flat. Yet, luckily there is a huge, huge, huge range of products out there for anyone and everyone to fit particular skin tones, colours, complexions etc - but you don't need me to tell you that. I've tried out a long list of products in the hope of achieving a flawless base for the rest of my make up and although I don't feel like I'm necessarily there in my search, the products I am currently using are definitely helping me on my way. That isn't to say that I love every product I am currently using but instead they're teaching me what types of products work well for my oily-to-combination skin and what products certainly do not. So in order of application...Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer (here): To be very honest with you all, I do not feel this is particularly worth the money. For a minuscule 10ml you have to be willing to fork out £20 which wouldn't be so bad if a little went a long way but instead I find I need at least two pumps per application to achieve the full effects of this product. There are no obvious differences to my skin once applied other then a slightly subtle radiant glow yet that's not to say that this will not work out for everyone. Interestingly, I bought this after receiving a large amount of recommendations. Yet, disappointedly I feel my search for the perfect primer is most definitely not over. Nars Sheer Glow (here): I don't know if I can actually summarise into words how much I love this foundation. I am currently working through my second bottle and still love it just as much as the first. The radiant glow, medium to full coverage and easily buildable formula with not an ounce of 'cakeyness' (is that a word?) in sight. If you are on the hunt for a flawless foundation, you need to try this one! Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (here): This is one of my all time favourite concealers purely for its immense coverage, creamy consistency and its good application (with a lovely doe foot applicator) for both under the eyes and for concealing pesky blemishes. Although at £22 it is pricey, it does have a lovely performance. The only downside to this product being how quickly it drys out in the bottle. I feel some of my high street alternatives actually have a better competition when it comes to the products formula yet the good qualities weigh out the bad in my eyes so this still currently remains as a staple in my collection. Lastly, to set this all in place, I use the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light (here): This is my all time favourite powder and pretty much the only one I have used everyday for the past year and a half. I'm currently working through my second one of these and have just hit pan (yay!) which I feel, pretty much proves how much I love this. It's great at mattifying shine, adding a bit of extra coverage but certainly doesn't leave the face looking 'flat'. I can not recommend this powder highly enough!

OOTD | Bright, Coral, Floral.

So my other OOTD post seemed to go down very well with my followers which I'm incredibly pleased about considering they're not something I'm overly accustomed too. I therefore decided to take a few snaps of my outfit today as it features pretty much all new additions to my wardrobe which I have been loving wearing. The main focus of this outfit being, of course, the jacket. I originally saw this jacket full priced and instantly wanted it but sadly they didn't have my size. Or maybe not so sad as a few weeks later I then find the same jacket in the perfect size for half the price! How ace is that?

Dress: Pull & Bear (£19.99), Jacket: River Island (£25), Shoes: Primark (£12-£15), Bag: Primark (£6), Lipstick: Topshop Sheer Lips in Pleased as Punch (£8)

How Much Is My Face Worth Tag!

Today I have a a really fun but still beauty related blog post for you all that I have been thinking about doing even before I owned my little blog. The 'How Much Is My Face Worth' Tag was first introduced to me by a renowned beauty blogger and vlogger, Sprinkle Of Glitter who uploaded a similar post onto her blog about two years ago and it has stuck in my head since.

The aim of this tag is to total up the costs of all the products you use on your face, wether it be for a specific night out, a celebrity inspired make up tutorial or in my case just your typical 'face of the day'. Obviously, I know I don't use a whole bottle of foundation on my face at a time because that would just be both ridiculous and incredibly expensive as well as maybe slightly impossible but this is only a bit of fun and to be honest I don't even know how I'd go about working out the exact measurements and costings of each product I apply on a daily basis.

Base And Face
Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser £23
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch £26
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Mont Blanc £31
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Vanilla £22
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Light £22
                             =  £124

All About The Eyes
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade Dark Brown £15
By Terry Ombre Blackstar Frozen Quartz £28
Lancôme Artliner Liquid Eyeliner Noir £20
Estée Lauder Pure Colour Duo Pencil Eyeliner Blackened Black/ Blackened Cocoa £16
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara Black £7.99
                              =  £86.99

Compliment And Colour That Complexion
Mac Alluring Aquatic Extra Dimension Bronzer Aphrodite's Shell £24
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Soft & Gentle £23
Mac Limited Edition Highlighting Powder Crew £14 (from Cohorted
Dior Addict Gloss Venus £22
                         = £83

The Grand Total = £293.99

The total actually made me feel a little sick at first sight and I know my everyday make up is a little high end heavy but I truly love every single product I use/own and even though I do like to change things up every now and then, these all always seem to be the products I always end up crawling back to. To  justify the incredibly high price tag I feel I need to explain that make up is my absolute passion and I'd rather sacrifice other materialistic things like clothes, accessories etc. for cosmetics. I can also vouch that the majority of the high end products I own often last a considerable amount longer then a lot of my drugstore products due to their long-lasting formulas and amazing pigmentations.

I may do some more of these in the future (especially a drugstore version!) as I do change up my products quite often especially during different seasons, for events or just for the hell of it!

I would love to know how much your face is worth, especially if it is as costly as mine as then I may feel slightly less guilty! If you do end up doing this tag please notify me in the comments below.

Let me know what you think of this post and if you to would like to find out anymore about the products above, leave your questions in the comment section and I will get back to you!

Did you enjoy this tag? How much is your face worth?

Beauty| YSL Volupté Sheer Candy Lipstick

I probably buy lipstick more then any other product out there. There's something about the variation of colour, formulas and finish that gets my heart racing. Admittedly the majority of my lip products were actually bargains snapped up on the hight street but a lipstick fanatic surely must have to own something high end? Especially if it is a YSL product. I am completely in love with YSL beauty as there truly has not been one product that I have bought from them that didn't have excellent performance and wasn't worth the heavy price tag.  There's always a promise of great quality and not to mention the gorgeous packaging, a trait that many beauty buyers, myself included, are usually drawn to.

This product definitely ticks all the boxes that most search for in a lip product. The YSL Volputé Sheer Candy Lipstick has gorgeous coloration wrapped up in beautiful packaging, a product I feel proud to have in my collection. It was definitely the silver tube with the pink/gold band around the middle that initially drew me towards this product. I actually like the fact that its more weighty then most lipsticks as it creates connotations of luxury, something I want when it's costing me a bomb. I chose mine in the shade 3 Juicy Grapefruit a really sheer, pale pink with a slight shimmer and extra shine, a diverse colour that's perfect for both day and night. I love it because the light, pretty shade is perfect for any look be it bold smoky eyes or something a little more natural. The product itself is unique and I find the best way to describe the formula is a lipstick but with the benefits of a lip balm with its super rich, hydrating formula, a touch of colour and fruity extracts that works wonders on your lips. The hydration and moisture on lips really lasts a length of time even if the colour doesn't.  The thing that really topped it for me with this product was the gorgeous, fruity smell that makes both me and my lips feel refreshed and rejuvenated once applied. A definite added bonus that sets it aside from most other lip products. Priced at £25 it's expensive but that comes at no surprise with it being a product from YSL but as I mentioned before, you are paying for quality.

All in all this is a lovely product which sparks my interest at trying some more in the same range. Maybe a richer colour to create some show stopper lips for an evening look.
