The Lip Product Addict Tag

I thought I would do a light-hearted post for today after a hectic week! I have been meaning to do this tag for a long time after been tagged by numerous people and am finally getting round to it. I am a massive lip product addict (as the tag title would suggest) and wanted to share all my favourites with you. So let's get straight into it.

1. Favourite balm/treatment?
This probably has to be the Soap & Glory A Great Kisser balm. I love the smell and love the peachy pink colour it gives on the lips and find it to be fairly nourishing also. I featured this in my top 5 lip products from the high street so check that out!

2. Best eye-catching red?
This has to be my MAC Ruby from the Pedro Lourenco collection. Not only is the packaging absolutely gorgeous but the colour is beautiful and bold but still flattering on my pale skin. I often steer clear of blue-toned reds as I tend to find they don't really suit me so instead I opted for this shade as it was a slightly deeper and I am so glad I did!

3. Best luxury and best drugstore?
My best luxury lipsticks easily have to be from Charlotte Tilbury. Seriously, the packaging is heavenly and each and every shade is beautiful and feels great on the lips. I want to own every single colour of these! Best drugstore has to be the Topshop lipsticks. I don't know if this necessarily counts as drugstore but it's definitely 'high street'. I find these to be very similar to MAC in quality and also in options. They offer a range of colours and finishes, all of which work beautifully. If you haven't already, go and check these out!

4. Best MAC lipstick?
This is a difficult one for me as you would know if you checked out my MAC lipstick collection  but this probably has to be my MAC Hue due to how wearable it is and how beautiful it looks for everyday wear.

5. The most disappointing?
This has to be one of my YSL Glossy Stains in the shade 19. I am totally in love with the shade 14 and still consider it to be one of my all time favourite lip glosses. Hence why I picked up a more neutral shade for everyday wear as I thought the formula would be great. Instead, I find the pale shades to be patchy in application and the colour isn't as opaque as I initially expected it would be. If you want to try these out, I strongly urge you to steer clear of the paler shades and opt for something  more bold.

6. Liner - yes or no?
Definitely yes! I never had been one for lip liner purely because I always had a preconceived idea of lipliner to be a thin line round your lips with a mismatching pale lipstick in the centre. Obviously, I was wrong and now own a few lipliners that I find work great either on their own as a bold matte lip colour or under a lipstick or gloss to give a stronger colour. My favourite has to be my Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk as it's a 'your lips but better' shade that draws emphasis on my lips but doesn't look too much

7. Best gloss?
This easily has to be my Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in 001 as it's neutral but beautiful, extra glossy and helps my lips look more plump and full. Yet, for a high street alternative, I am also in love with the Tanya Burr lipgloss in Chic which is a really lovely beige nude that has a great shine.

8. Something extra!
This is has to be my Tom Ford Matte Lip Colour in Pussycat. I'm in love with this lipstick both for it's gorgeous simple but unique shade and of course it's extra-special packaging. This signifies the epitome of luxury to me and I am so happy I have it in my collection.

I tag anyone who wants to do this! I hope you enjoyed this post so let me know in the comments.

The Perfect Palette Tag

First: Urban Decay Naked 2 & 3. Second: Too Faced Chocolate Bar & Natural Eyes. Third: MAC Pro Palette & Warm Neutrals. Fourth: Urban Decay Naked Basic & Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita.

I've been tagged by a number of people to do the The Perfect Palette Tag and I apologise that the reply has been slightly delayed and I am probably the last person to jump on this beauty bandwagon. Even so, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to discuss my favourite palettes with you as they are easily my most favourite purchases and the one I get the most satisfaction from - as sad as that sounds!

Perfect Palette Tag Questions:
1. Best Packaging
Even though there are so many palettes out there, that are dressed in gorgeous packaging with rose gold accents (*ahem* Charlotte Tilbury), I actually decided to choose MAC for this answer. I like the ultras slim feel of their palettes and the clear tops, that allow for you to see every colour you own without having to open the actual palette. They are perfect for display purposes and are ultra-versatile due to their removable pans thus allowing you to mix and match your shades and build your perfect palette.

2. Best Colour Payoff
This has taken me a lot of thought to decide as I usually dabble in the likes of MAC and Urban Decay and both, as you most probably know, have great pigmentation. Yet, I decided to choose the palettes from Charlotte Tilbury mainly due to the loose pigment shade that features in each of her quads. Although, they're glitter pigments the colour pay-off is insane and seriously completes any smokey-eye. Admittedly, I actually purchased both my Tilbury palettes because of this little pan of glitter. There is all review of this palette on my blog which you can check out here

3. Most Versatile
Urban Decay are probably one of the most talked about brands when it comes to their eyeshadows. I can guarantee that the majority of the beauty fanatics out there own at least one of their Naked palettes. For most versatile I opted for the Naked 2 as the range of shades allow for a beautiful but simple daytime look yet but also caters for an amped-up evening look due to it's deeper hues, ranging from matte to iridescent formulas. I seriously love this palette.

4. Best for Travelling
Again, from Urban Decay comes the Naked Basics 2. A teeny-tiny all matte palette, that although has only a few shades, can easily cater for pretty much all neutral looks. The cool-toned shadows are incredibly buttery, blend beautifully and last perfectly. If you're just getting in to makeup and want something that's easy to use and easy to wear, I highly recommend this one, or its just as beautiful twin - the original Naked Basics palette.

5. Biggest Regret
I really struggled with this question as I don't really regret any of my purchases. I obviously have palettes that I don't reach for as much but I don't necessarily regret them. I'm sure there are palettes or shades that I'm not thinking of but for now I'm going to have say none for this question.

6. Best Colour Names
The answer to this question was easily going to be a product from Too Faced as although some of their names can be a little risqué, I love the creativeness behind them. If you own any of the Too Faced palettes, you will know what I mean. The Chocolate Bar palette in particular, I felt really in-cooperated the theme into all the shade names eg. Black Forest Truffle, Milk Chocolate, Amaretto, Salted Caramel etc. Plus the fact that it actually smells of chocolate due to cocoa powder being one of the ingredients, is a serious added bonus!

7. Least Used
As much as I love my MAC Warm Neutrals palette, I really do not get enough use out of it! I think the range of shades and formulas, is just slightly overwhelming and I never know what shades to pair with what. Nevertheless, I am making a subconscious effort to reach for this palette more as it really is beautiful.

8. Most Used
This question was easy and the appearance of this palette proves that. My MAC Pro Palette contains shades I picked myself and I have used at least one of these colours almost everyday since purchasing them. The shades featured are probably my all time favourite eyeshadows ever and the ones I find myself reaching for when I want something simple and easy but still pretty. The shades are Naked Lunch, Nylon, Charcoal Brown and Mythology. Review of some of the shades are on my blog here

9. Most Loved
Other than the MAC palette I previously mentioned, my other most loved palette has to be the Urban Decay Naked 3 (yes I know, another one from UD). This palette was an unexpected love of mine as admittedly I got this purely because of the hype surrounding it when it was first released. Yet, since then I have found this palette to be amazing when it comes to creating pretty, pink-gold makeup looks that always seem to be the ones I get the most compliments on!

10. Desert Island
I always find these questions kind of strange as realistically if I was stuck on a Desert Island, makeup would be the last thing I need but I'm probably being really boring! Yet, if for some reason I felt compelled to take one, I would definitely take the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette as I feel the range of shades can be used to create unlimited makeup looks that are more-than-easy to apply. I also love the petite, tin packaging thats surprisingly quite slim. The only thing this palette lacks is a decent mirror!

The Beauty 5-A-Day Tag

Today I'm bringing to my little blog my 'Beauty 5-A-Day'. 5 beauty products that I can't live without on a daily basis. Think the whole 'If you were stranded on a desert island what item would you take with you' but change one item to five and instead of life-saving components, it's just five fab items that I find to be 'vital' to my routine, much like your average 5-a-day. Now this isn't my typical everyday make up, this is basically just a quick rundown on all the products I would use to gain some normality to my face if ever I was limited to only five products (even thinking about this scares me slightly).

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
First of all, I'd need the perfect base. Considering I would most likely sacrifice concealer, I'd need a foundation that offers enough coverage to still make my skin appear near enough flawless, well as good as it can look! I'd also prefer a foundation that gives a nice dewy glow to my skin as so to ensure that my overall complexion would appear more alive and healthy.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
Can we all just quickly take a moment to appreciate how beautiful this little compact trio is. I guess this is a slight cheat product as it's kind of a 3-in-1 job. With a beautiful all over radiant setting powder, a lovely champagne highlight and a bronzed shimmer to add some colour to the complexion, this is without a doubt a definite product in my 5-a-day. Plus just looking at how beautiful it is makes me feel slightly emotional (sad I know!).

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush
Once again, a slight cheat, 2-in-1 product but it's still really only one, right? A beautiful, sheer pink blush that can be added lightly for a quick pop of colour or built up more intensely for a bold, bright statement cheek. Plus, if you really want to get creative you can also dab a little bit of this pretty pink to the lips as so to save space for an whole extra product. Think Benefit's Cheek and Blush tints but  more affordable and maybe even better!

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade
Now I'm the kind of girl that can't leave the house without my brows being groomed and filled or else I just look 'half finished'. This is a great, easy-to-use product that gives the perfect brows without the need of multiple other products. This is definitely my 'go-to' brow product and I really can't see that changing anytime soon.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara
Finally, my make up never looks done without applying a few lashings of mascara. I haven't picked this one for any particular reason other than the fact that its cheap and cheerful as well as the unique shaped wand ensures that those lashes will be looking as curled as ever without the use of any extra tools.

So that's my 5-A-Day in a quick, straight to the point(ish) post. There's of course a million other products that I would love to use alongside these but then that would completely defy the point of this post. I would love for all you to do this tag so I can see what your five would be and maybe swap out some of mine for some of yours!

Let me know what you think in the comments.

How Much Is My Face Worth Tag!

Today I have a a really fun but still beauty related blog post for you all that I have been thinking about doing even before I owned my little blog. The 'How Much Is My Face Worth' Tag was first introduced to me by a renowned beauty blogger and vlogger, Sprinkle Of Glitter who uploaded a similar post onto her blog about two years ago and it has stuck in my head since.

The aim of this tag is to total up the costs of all the products you use on your face, wether it be for a specific night out, a celebrity inspired make up tutorial or in my case just your typical 'face of the day'. Obviously, I know I don't use a whole bottle of foundation on my face at a time because that would just be both ridiculous and incredibly expensive as well as maybe slightly impossible but this is only a bit of fun and to be honest I don't even know how I'd go about working out the exact measurements and costings of each product I apply on a daily basis.

Base And Face
Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser £23
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch £26
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation Mont Blanc £31
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Vanilla £22
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Light £22
                             =  £124

All About The Eyes
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade Dark Brown £15
By Terry Ombre Blackstar Frozen Quartz £28
Lancôme Artliner Liquid Eyeliner Noir £20
Estée Lauder Pure Colour Duo Pencil Eyeliner Blackened Black/ Blackened Cocoa £16
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara Black £7.99
                              =  £86.99

Compliment And Colour That Complexion
Mac Alluring Aquatic Extra Dimension Bronzer Aphrodite's Shell £24
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Soft & Gentle £23
Mac Limited Edition Highlighting Powder Crew £14 (from Cohorted
Dior Addict Gloss Venus £22
                         = £83

The Grand Total = £293.99

The total actually made me feel a little sick at first sight and I know my everyday make up is a little high end heavy but I truly love every single product I use/own and even though I do like to change things up every now and then, these all always seem to be the products I always end up crawling back to. To  justify the incredibly high price tag I feel I need to explain that make up is my absolute passion and I'd rather sacrifice other materialistic things like clothes, accessories etc. for cosmetics. I can also vouch that the majority of the high end products I own often last a considerable amount longer then a lot of my drugstore products due to their long-lasting formulas and amazing pigmentations.

I may do some more of these in the future (especially a drugstore version!) as I do change up my products quite often especially during different seasons, for events or just for the hell of it!

I would love to know how much your face is worth, especially if it is as costly as mine as then I may feel slightly less guilty! If you do end up doing this tag please notify me in the comments below.

Let me know what you think of this post and if you to would like to find out anymore about the products above, leave your questions in the comment section and I will get back to you!

The Beauty Scenario Tag

Today I'm doing The Beauty Scenario Tag, a set of questions introduced by Lily Pebbles a British Beauty Blogger and one of my favourite YouTuber's. I was tagged by the lovely Natalie from Girl Uninterpreted who had some great answers to the following questions, so do check them out after reading this post!

1. You have to get rid of all of your foundations and only keep one high end and one drugstore. Which do you keep?

For high end it would have to be Esteé Lauder's Double Wear, my all time favourite go-to foundation. I'd strangely be fine with only ever having to use that one. Drugstore foundation on the other hand is tricky. I hate to say it but I am a snob when it comes to foundation and so never really particularly get along with any on the high street but if I have to choose it'll be the L'Oreal True Match foundation, I liked the finish and coverage the only reason I never wear it is because I own the completely wrong shade for my skin!

2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?

Definitely ignore it. It would be too awkward to mention it to her and I'd worry about it for ever more after the interview and would probably be convinced that I am never, ever getting that job.

3. You're not feeling yourself and need a pick me up lipstick. Which one do you go for?

It would probably have to be Mac's Hue, just because it's my favourite nude and I always love the look it creates when I am wearing it. Plus, if I'm feeling a bit down I wouldn't want to go for a bold as I'd be conscious on how much attention it was drawing towards myself.

4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years. How would you do your hair and make up differently?

I am ashamed to say I adopted the 'emo' look in my teens. Yes that's right, black hair with a thick sweepy fringe that covered one of my eyes and thick under eye black liner that meant I was permanently rocking the Panda look. I'd definitely move the fringe of my face, go easy on the liner, balance it out with a mascara and maybe add a bit of blush to give my pale complexion some colour.

5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut but they hear wrong and give you a pixie hair cut. Do you a) smile, say thank you, leave and call you more crying hysterically or b) cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) complain to the manager demanding a refund?

I feel the need to mention that my hairdresser is in actual fact my Mum but for the sake of this Tag I'll pretend I've actually been to a salon. I would cry and cry for days on end. Try and work with it and then cry so more. Then downright complain to the manager and demand for a refund because there is no way I'd be paying for something that drastically wrong.

6. Your friend surprises you with a four day city break and you have one hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your make up bag?

Easily my Naked 2 from Urban Decay. Just because it has such a good shade range as well as a balanced amount of matte to iridescent finishes. I also love the fact that it contains the right shades for a natural, pretty day time look or an 'out there' evening look.

7. Your house has been robbed, don't worry everyone is safe but your beauty stash has been raided. What's the beauty product you really hope is safe?

I'll have to say my Chanel Hydra Beauty Gel Creme just because it was so expensive and I don't live near any Chanel counters meaning it'll be hard to get my hands on it again.

8. You friend borrows and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) just pretend you hadn't noticed b) ask them to repurchase it or c) do the same to something of theirs?

I'd pretend I haven't noticed but would make a mental note never to lend them any of my products ever again! I would feel way to awkward asking them to repurchase it.

That was such a fun tag to do and really got my brain ticking. Considering it's a set of question based mainly on makeup, you do find out a lot about your personality too!

I tag Amy, Victoria and Zoe.

Enjoy!
