How Much Is My Face Worth Tag!

Today I have a a really fun but still beauty related blog post for you all that I have been thinking about doing even before I owned my little blog. The 'How Much Is My Face Worth' Tag was first introduced to me by a renowned beauty blogger and vlogger, Sprinkle Of Glitter who uploaded a similar post onto her blog about two years ago and it has stuck in my head since.

The aim of this tag is to total up the costs of all the products you use on your face, wether it be for a specific night out, a celebrity inspired make up tutorial or in my case just your typical 'face of the day'. Obviously, I know I don't use a whole bottle of foundation on my face at a time because that would just be both ridiculous and incredibly expensive as well as maybe slightly impossible but this is only a bit of fun and to be honest I don't even know how I'd go about working out the exact measurements and costings of each product I apply on a daily basis.

The Grand Total = £293.99

The total actually made me feel a little sick at first sight and I know my everyday make up is a little high end heavy but I truly love every single product I use/own and even though I do like to change things up every now and then, these all always seem to be the products I always end up crawling back to. To  justify the incredibly high price tag I feel I need to explain that make up is my absolute passion and I'd rather sacrifice other materialistic things like clothes, accessories etc. for cosmetics. I can also vouch that the majority of the high end products I own often last a considerable amount longer then a lot of my drugstore products due to their long-lasting formulas and amazing pigmentations. 

I may do some more of these in the future (especially a drugstore version!) as I do change up my products quite often especially during different seasons, for events or just for the hell of it!

Beauty| Lush Oatifix Face Mask

There really is nothing like a good face mask to spice up your skincare routine to help achieve those added benefits that the face may sometimes need. I've mainly be using the packaged, self-heating ones through these wintery months but thought I would treat myself to one of the Lush Fresh Face Mask's in the 'flavour' Oatifix for a bit of luxury. I've seen a few reviews on these and decided it was time I gave them a go.

The main ingredient of this, as you have probably guessed by the name, is Oatmeal along with Fresh Organic Bananas and Grounded Almonds. I love the clever, if so slightly 'punny', name Oatifix as I'm assuming it's meant to be a take on the family breakfast cereal 'Oatibix'. Much like the rest of Lush Cosmetics products this is Organic and Vegan friendly which is always an added bonus. 

Being made up of natural ingredients, it has a very lumpy, gooey consistency and it literally feelings like you are spreading porridge all over your face which I can appreciate isn't something everyone would like. Yet the the thick texture isn't such a bad thing considering, as it gives the impression that it's really getting into your skin. It has a really lovely, delicious scent which is mainly down to the added ingredient, Fairtrade Vanilla, making it almost good enough to eat and definitely acts as a pick-me-up in times of need. The idea of this is that you store it in the fridge and so once applied, it's cool and calming on your skin. The main purpose of the mask is to give a good amount of hydration which is done with the help of the natural oils founded in the Banana's, making this is a perfect aid to anyone that suffers with dry patches on the skin, a common problem in winter. 

This mask also doubles up to be an exfoliater as the fine, grounded almonds and rich pieces of oatmeal remove the dead skin leaving your face appearing clean and fresh. My face definitely felt smooth and hydrated even after the first time I used it. The one main downside to this product is that you're only recommend to store it for 2-3 weeks meaning you have to use it up pretty quickly to get your full moneys worth but considering it's all natural ingredients, it comes at no surprise. 

The mask is priced at £5.95 for a 75g pot which I feel is another negative as I do think that's slightly excessive for a product that is composed with natural ingredients. I don't know if I necessarily would purchase this particular flavour again but I think I would like to try some others in the same range as Lush do have some more lovely (and chocolatey) scents that I want to give a go!
