Clinique Lip Pops

These new lipsticks released this Summer from award-winning beauty brand Clinique, are everything you need for the brighter months. No matter what colour you are after, the Clinique Lip Pop collection is guaranteed to have it amongst their 16 available shades. Packaged in perfect prisms that are each colour-coded depending on their shade and name, these lippies are a beauty collectors dream. As I am such a huge fan of their Cheek Pops that I had been obsessed with the previous Summer, I could not wait to get my hands on these as I was sure the quality would be outstanding. I was not wrong. Each shade is unique and beautiful, some neutral and muted for day-to-day wear, others bold and bright for a pop of confidence. The pigmentation for each lipstick is incredible, all of which are opaque but creamy, with a demi-matte finish that is completely perfect for Summer. Beige Pop has become my new everyday lipstick due to its hydrating formula and nicely, neutral colour. I have also been loving Poppy Pop despite the fact that it is a colour I would usually avoid due to its bright hue, yet I find the yellow undertones compliment my complexion. The only downside to this shade is that it will also highlight any yellowness in your teeth, so be aware! The other shades also offer a lot of option for any occasion and their sturdy and suitable packaging means they are perfect to pop in your handbag for on-the-go. At £16 a pop, they are a reasonably priced lip product that fits nicely between high street and high end. I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the collection.

Fragrance Favourites for S/S

Besides make-up, fragrance is my all time favourite thing to purchase wether its because they're often cased in killer packaging or because it adds a feminine touch to any look. Nothing seems to be more uplifting than spritzing on a tantalising perfume before walking out the door. Switching up your fragrance choices is the perfect segue for the transition from the winter to spring. So this is why I decided to share three of my all time favourite fragrances for the warmer months, so you can feel inspired to shake up your fragrance stash ready for spring/summer. 

First up is the MAC Turqautic fragrance (£38.50 for 50ml) that featured in my March favourites. I know what you're thinking - MAC do perfume?! Not only do they do perfume but those clever clogs at MAC headquarters have created the most amazing summer scent, cased in a gorgeous oblong-shaped cube that connotes cool underwater vibes. I spritzed this on my wrist when making a purchase at the counter and ten minutes later I was back in store, picking it up to purchase. The aquatic packaging mimics the the fragrance ingredients as it contains anemone, lotus and Corsican blue cedar to name a few. The fragrance lasts well throughout the day so rarely requires a top up and has already drawn in many compliments from others. If you are looking for a new fresh scent for this summer, I seriously recommend checking this out! 

Next up is the plenty raved about fragrance, Molecule 01 from Escentric Molecules. The innovative idea behind this product is what initially sold it to me in the first place. The fragrance is unisex so pretty much everybody in your household can use it, making the steep price tag of £65.50 for 100ml, slightly less horrifying. The main ingredient in this fragrance is the chemical iso E super, the base note that is often used to create allure in a scent. Therefore, this perfume has a unique scent for everybody meaning no two people will smell the same but they will still most definitely smell good. The undertones of this perfume are subtle and sultry but work all year round. If you purchase this bottle, you can be ensured you can wear it all day, everyday, through every single season. Therefore, it's more an investment piece, right? The only downside to this fragrance is that it is fairly difficult to smell on yourself thus giving the false conception that it's worn off yet the compliments will still be flooding in from everyone else around you. Trust me. 

Finally, is of course the number one summer fragrance in my eyes. The Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess. This only comes out once a year during summer, is incredibly limited edition and is basically summer in a bottle. A spritz of this fragrance is enough to make you crave a tropical vacation in paradise. Featuring ingredients such as coconut milk, lemon mandarin and magnolia petals, this scent is addictive. The scent is light but alluring and is enough to get anyway excited for the heat of summer. Mini MAC Haul

Nothing makes my day more than waking up to a parcel from MAC filled with products from their new collections. Like the majority, I am eagerly awaiting the release of their very much talked about Cinderella collection which, to be quite honest, I have already set my alarm for! Until then, I've satisfied my craving by picking up a few items from the Isabel and Ruben Toledo collection and one product from the Bao Bao Wan collection.  How many times can I say collection?

The Perfect Summer Lipstick From YSL

I think it's no surprise that YSL win when it comes to beautiful, luxurious packaging. I'm honestly like a dog to it's bone when it comes to the gold plated lipsticks with the stencilled logo over the shade teaser that just looks too pretty when on show in my cosmetic's storage. I own two other shades of these but both alternative formulas (including one of the Sheer Candy Lipsticks) so this is the first I tried with this type of finish. Therefore, it makes me very happy to say that I absolutely love YSL's Rouge Volupté Shines. It's creamy but perfectly pigmented. By that I mean that it has enough pigment to completely adapt the colour of lips but it doesn't apply like a mask such as, in comparison, MAC's Amplified Cream formula lipsticks. It didn't dry out my lips at all and made them, in overall, feel soft and buttery throughout the wear time. Yet, what really sold me with this product was, of course, the colour. Coral Intuitive 15 - a perfect peachy, coral shade that complimented my fair skin tone and I can imagine every other! It's bright but not bold with a lovely subtle shine that brings some dewiness to the face, a key ingredient for the perfect Summer look. The wear time is good considering the formula is very buttery and I still found evidence of the colour a good two to three hours later which I think is down to the subtle stain which is left on the lips after application. If you're after the perfect Summer shade and aren't afraid to spend a bit of extra cash (£25) then this is the one for you!

What's your favourite Summer lipstick? 

Fragrance| Lancôme Trésor Midnight Rose

Seeing as we are now fast approaching Spring/Summer (although the English weather may say otherwise) I thought this would be the perfect time to review one of my all time favourite fragrances the Lancôme Trésor Midnight Rose. This is the perfect fragrance to wear on a Summer's evening or to add that little bit of flirty something in the Spring. Being a light and girly fragrance with a hint of musk, it really is no surprise that Lancôme themselves describe it as being the ideal scent for 'capturing hearts' a very fitting quality with Valentine's Day on the horizon. Overall, the scent can be best described as fruity, floral and completely addictive which explains why I love it so much. 

The fragrances top notes that create the most obvious scent when first applied and are usually what give the initial impression are Jasmine, Peony, Blackcurrant and Pink Pepper. The abundance of ingredients pretty much explains why I was hooked at the first spritz with the exotic flowers and juicy berries.

 Along with this are the heart notes the base of the scent which often acts as the main tone of the perfume are made up of a lovely combination of Rose and Raspberry. I was pleased to find out that Rose was a key smell in the perfume as this along with the Blackcurrant element of the fragrance cleverly mimic the colour and design of the bottle - a really nice touch. 

Then finally the all important base notes, the rich, deep smells of the perfume which in this case contain Vanilla and Musk which explains why this is of course, a sexy, womanly fragrance. 

All of these fragrant flavours are wrapped up in a pink/purple ombre themed bottle that I personally think to be beautiful. I love the added rose decoration which in fact was used in bracelet form when sampling the fragrance in shops as opposed to a Perfume Tester Strip. Considering the rose was made out of a thicker material meant that the smell was soaked in and lingered for longer meaning the sampler was able to enjoy all the different notes of the perfume before making the purchase - a perfect idea. The bottle feels classy and expensive with a slight vintage touch with the shape of the base and lid making a lovely addition to an ever-growing collection. 

Priced at £39 for 30ml makes it not too outrageous and I would like to say worth it for this unique and original scent.  There really is only one downside to this product, this being that the fragrance is quite light meaning it requires multiple applications throughout the day to make it last therefore the bottle does ran out quicker then most. Yet, with that single negative aside, I will definitely be quick to purchase this bottle once this has ran its course and most likely the bigger size!
